What is AeroBarrier? Building on proven, cutting-edge technology invented by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) more than 20 years ago, AeroBarrier is a convenient, cost-effective building envelope sealing system that simultaneously measures and seals air leaks in commercial, multifamily and residential structures in real time, in just a few hours. AeroBarrier can help builders meet the most aggressive air leakage standards (IECC, Energy Star, LEED, ZERH, NGBS or passive house) more consistently and cost-effectively than traditional envelope sealing methods, sealing gaps up to 1/2″ wide and as small as a human hair. The proprietary technology takes the guesswork out of sealing an envelope and the results are guaranteed. AeroBarrier is GREENGUARD Gold Certified and National Green Building Standard (NGBS) approved. It’s not only safe to use inside a home, it also meets the stricter requirements for use in schools and healthcare facilities. GREENGUARD Certification helps manufacturers create, and helps buyers identify, products and materials that have low chemical emissions, improving the quality of the air in which the products are used. AeroBarrier is also NGBS approved. NGBS is the only green building rating system for apartments approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). View our AeroBarrier Safety Data Sheet
Measured Results: As AeroBarrier is applied to your project, results are displayed in real time. By incorporating a blower door, the AeroBarrier system is able to target and achieve your desired Air Changes per Hour (ACH). It’s that simple and it’s guaranteed. At the end of the process, we provide you with a report that documents the air leakage improvement: AeroBarrier Sample Report
Easy to Apply: From start to finish, the sealing process takes approximately 4 hours for a typical single-family home, depending on initial tightness. In new construction applications, prep and cleanup time is minimal. Once in place, the AeroBarrier system takes over and manages the sealing process through completion.
Save Money: Using a blower door, the AeroBarrier system provides leakage readings in real time, allowing us to stop the process once the desired target is achieved—saving time, material and labor costs.
