A fourth-generation construction professional, US Ceiling Corp President Melissa James-Geska takes a hands-on approach, setting and defining the vision and culture of our organization and helping oversee estimating, operations and project and business management. Melissa has emerged as an industry leader and was named an Rochester Business Journal (RBJ) 2023 Elevating Women awardee, a City of Rochester 2023 MWBE Champion, an RBJ Power 30 List honoree for Real Estate and Construction in 2023 and 2022, an RBJ Circle of Excellence and Excellence in Construction honoree in 2021, a Young Women’s College Prep Leadership awardee in 2019 and an RBJ Women of Excellence honoree in 2018. Because of her tireless leadership, US Ceiling received NYS’ most prestigious honor for MWBEs in 2018: the Carey Gabay Excellence and Innovation Award. As part of her commitment to her community, Melissa works closely with local nonprofit organizations that help support and empower women and priority populations. She is the immediate past chair of the Builder’s Exchange of Rochester; a vice chair nominee for RochesterWorks!; a steering committee member for Rochester-Monroe Anti-Poverty Initiative; a board trustee for Genesee Valley Club; a board and construction committee member for Flower City Habitat for Humanity; and a medical center board member for the University of Rochester. Melissa formerly served as a board trustee for Young Women’s College Prep, a board of governors member for Al Sigl Foundation and is also past president of the Greater Rochester Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction.
