Melissa Geska

President

As company president, Melissa Geska takes a hands-on approach, helping oversee estimating, operations and project and business management. Melissa has emerged as an industry leader and was named a Rochester Business Journal (RBJ) Circle of Excellence honoree in 2021, an RBJ Women of Excellence honoree in 2018, and shortlisted in 2018 and 2019 as an SBC Business Person of the Year finalist. Because of her tireless leadership, US Ceiling received NYS’ most prestigious honor for M/WBEs in 2018: the Carey Gabay Excellence and Innovation Award. As part of her commitment to her community, Melissa works closely with the Urban League of Rochester in support of their varied initiatives, as well as other local non-profit organizations that help support and empower women and priority populations. She currently serves on the executive board of the Rochester Builder’s Exchange and the Al Sigl Foundation board of governors, and is the past president of the Greater Rochester Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction.

Gary Black

Executive Vice President

With an ever-growing list of jobs and manpower, it was apparent that US Ceiling needed a dedicated, direct, knowledgeable and experienced champion of excellence, accuracy and safety. Gary Black meets each of those needs and then some. With decades of experience as a subcontractor and self-performer on projects of nearly all scopes, Gary brings his tremendous experience and attention to detail to the team. His contribution has been immediate and immense.

Michael Johnston

Vice President of Operations

Michael Johnston has more than 22 years of construction industry experience, including roles in field management, specialty product installation, project management and estimating. He brings to the team an incredible attention to detail with big picture perspective. He is committed to and driven by excellence, and learning new and better ways to improve on our productivity, efficiency and quality. Michael continually strives to provide an exceptional customer experience as US Ceiling delivers on our project commitments.

Sherry Jackson

Vice President of Marketing & Communications

Sherry Jackson’s decades-long career has been characterized by professional excellence and high-quality work. She is a results-driven leader and proven relationship builder with a keen ability to strategize, streamline and effectively deliver. In her role as vice president of marketing and communications, Sherry develops strategies, tools and tactics to expand US Ceiling’s business in its key markets. She leads the marketing, branding, social media, advertising and communications efforts, focusing on growing brand awareness and enhancing employee and customer engagement.

Ron Lewis

Director of Finance

As a multidisciplinary and innovative finance and accounting professional, Ron Lewis oversees our accounting operations, including financial planning, analysis and reporting, as well as ensuring compliance with financial polices and controls. Ron brings aboard his solution-driven style, making him a valued and productive member of the team.

Laura West

USC Academy Director

Laura West brings a multitude of disciplines to our talented team. Her extensive knowledge of marketing, strategic planning and program development makes her the perfect person to oversee our USC Academy initiative, an internal training program designed to bolster the skills of our existing workforce, as well as partner with community groups that support diversity and the development and increase of skilled tradespeople. Laura is a founding member of Rochester’s Business Hall of Fame, a recent past Habitat for Humanity board member and United Way volunteer. She currently serves on the board for the American Red Cross and is also a licensed real estate professional.

Casey Johnson

Warehouse Manager

As warehouse manager for US Ceiling, Casey Johnson delivers on our promise when it comes to dependability, integrity, attention to detail and leadership. From liaising with customers, suppliers and employees to overseeing and streamlining the storage and logistical operations of our bustling warehouse, Casey’s drive, curiosity and expertise make him a tremendous asset to our growing team.

Ethan Geska

Project Manager & Estimator

Ethan Geska represents his family’s fifth generation to work in construction. As project manager and estimator, he brings a distinct level of consistency and care, helping our team secure and oversee the various projects we service. Whether it’s the very beginning planning stages or the closeout phase, Ethan upholds our company standards and makes sure we successfully deliver time and time again.

Riley Emmerson

Project Manager & Estimator

After gaining valuable field experience as a union carpenter apprentice, Riley Emmerson’s passion for a secure, clean work site, proper sequencing and scheduling, and bidding work is what ultimately led him to make the switch to project management and estimating. He brings his tremendous work ethic to every initiative, demonstrating his value to our company and our clients.

Kellah Alford

Construction Process Manager

Kellah Alford’s well-rounded perspective of effective, all-encompassing project management is why she’s such an integral part of our talented, diverse team. In her role as construction process manager, Kellah fosters a teamwork environment and ensures that strategy is clearly defined while overseeing and enhancing performance, morale and US Ceiling’s process-driven management philosophy. Her unwavering professionalism, commitment to driving excellence and ability to cultivate strong industry relationships means our projects will be shepherded from the bid phase to final completion, with absolute care and our clients’ needs top of mind.

Chelsey Gelder

HR/Payroll Specialist

In her role as HR/payroll specialist, Chelsey Gelder oversees the preparation, distribution and reporting processes for our organization’s payroll, along with supporting and administering human resources and compliance activities, and benefit data management. Her experience allows her to seamlessly handle everything that comes her way.
