Geska makes “herstory” as the first woman and person of color to serve as chair in organization’s 133-year history
WEBSTER, N.Y., July 15, 2021—US Ceiling Corp today announced that its company president, Melissa Geska, will serve as chairwoman of the Builders Exchange of Rochester (ROBEX), a local nonprofit that represents all sectors of the construction industry.
“Today is a major milestone in my personal life and professional career,” says Geska. “I am humbled to follow in the footsteps of incredible men and assume a two-year term as chairwoman of an organization that I love so much. I follow an industry giant, Bob Morgan [CEO of Upstate Roofing & Painting], and will work alongside ROBEX President Aaron Hilger and his amazing team to continue important advocacy for construction in our region.”
Since ROBEX was founded in 1888, labor, architects, public agencies, owners and contractors have depended on the organization to represent the interests of members. Today, ROBEX, with more than 600 members and affiliates, still serves the commercial, industrial and governmental construction industry in Western and Central New York through discounted OSHA certification and safety training classes, online planroom access, construction information, news and discount programs to its members.
